Corporal Dakota Powell (left) and Sergeant John P. Byrd, both deputies for Washington County, speak to students
Friday March 29, 2024 during an event for students at Arkansas Connections Academy (an online charter school). Students from kindergarten through eighth grade had the opportunity to explore a variety of careers and hear from local professionals. Around forty students and their families gathered in-person at the Donald W. Reynolds Boys & Girls Club in Fayetteville to learn about a variety of fields, with representatives from University of Arkansas Agriculture, Arkansas Highway Patrol, Fayetteville Fire Department, Wal-Mart Delivery, Washington County Emergency Management Department and Sheriff’s Department. This was the first such outing for students at the school. Visit nwaonline.com/photo for today's photo gallery. (NWA Democrat-Gazette/J.T. Wampler)
