SHELTER FOR LEARNING
Lauren Hildreth, volunteer coordinator at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area, talks with Friends of Hobbs members Saturday June 10 2017 during an unveiling of the design for a new education pavilion to be built near the visitor center at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area. Art prints of the pavilion are seen at right. Friends of Hobbs hosted a gala Saturday evening to unveil the design of the pavilion that will serve as an outdoor classroom and a covered outdoor venue for park events. Construction will begin this summer, said Rich Brya, board member with Friends of Hobbs. The $500,000 project is funded by Friends of Hobbs with a matching grant from Arkansas State Parks, Brya said. Location of the pavilion is in the picnic area just east of the visitor center. The event featured a concert by National Park Radio, food, and prize drawings.
